What are AP classes?
AP classes are high school courses that follow a College Board Course and Examination Description. You can take multiple AP exams in May and get a score from 1 to 5.

The College Board, a not-for-profit based in New York City, has administered Advanced Placement since 1955. A high school may use the AP name only after the course is audited. The official AP Courses and Exams list currently names 42 courses.
Which AP classes does SATPrepIn teach?
SATPrepIn classes include 8 different AP courses, focusing on STEM.
| Program page | College Board exams covered |
|---|---|
| AP Calculus Classes | AP Precalculus, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC |
| AP Physics Classes | AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Physics C: Mechanics, AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism |
| AP Statistics | AP Statistics |
What is AP Calculus and AP Precalculus?
AP Calculus AB is roughly equivalent to one semester of college calculus, and BC is roughly equivalent to two. AP Precalculus is a foundational course, suited to grades 10 and 11.
AP Calculus AB covers limits, derivatives, and integrals. AP Calculus BC includes all topics on AP Calculus AB and adds series, parametric equations, and polar functions. AP Precalculus is the foundations course taken before calculus. College Board recommends algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and elementary functions as prerequisite for the AB and BC courses. In one school year, you can take only of the exams. The BC exam includes an AB subscore.
SATPrepIn covers all three exams through their AP Calculus prep programs.
What is AP Physics?
AP Physics is four College Board courses. Physics 1 and Physics 2 are algebra-based. Physics C: Mechanics and Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism are calculus-based.
- AP Physics 1: first-semester algebra-based college physics, including fluids after the 2024-25 revision.
- AP Physics 2: second-semester algebra-based physics (thermodynamics, electricity, optics, modern physics).
- AP Physics C: Mechanics: calculus-based mechanics. Calculus concurrent or complete is recommended.
- AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism: calculus-based E and M, usually after Mechanics.
On the 2027 calendar, Physics 1 and Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism are on the same Session 2 on Wednesday, 5 May. A student taking both needs late testing for one of them. Physics 1 had the lowest share of scores 3 or higher among the four physics exams in the 2023 public score tables (45.6 percent at 3 or above).
Course-level detail is on the AP Physics Classes page.
What is AP Statistics?
AP Statistics is College Board's introductory statistics course: collecting data, one-variable and two-variable data, probability, sampling distributions, and inference.
The 2026-27 school year sees several changes to the AP Statistics exam. In 2023, 242,929 students sat the exam. 60.0 percent scored 3 or higher. The mean score was 2.89.
SATPrepIn AP Statistics classes focus on building solid fundamentals and preparing the students for the MCQs and FRQ questions that are routinely tested on the exam.
How are AP exams scored?
AP exams are scored on a 1 to 5 scale. 5 is Extremely well qualified. 4 is Well qualified. 3 is Qualified. 2 is Possibly qualified. 1 is No recommendation. Multiple-choice items are machine scored. Free-response items are scored by experts based on detailed question-wise guidelines published by the College Board. There is no guessing penalty on multiple-choice items (College Board removed it in 2011).
Most colleges that grant AP credit require a minimum of 3 or 4. The policy is governed by each college, with top colleges having stricter requirements, including needing a score of 5. Credit may appear as CR on a transcript. Some institutions place students into a later course instead of awarding credit hours.
When are the 2027 AP exams?

Who should take these AP classes?
These SATPrepIn AP classes are for high school students who will take a College Board AP exam in calculus, physics, or statistics. Typically, the exams are taken by students in a US-curriculum school that already offers AP, an international-school student sitting AP as an external exam, or a student adding AP next to IB, A-Levels, or a national board.
Students who need SAT prep can explore SAT online batch or 1-on-1 SAT classes. Grade 9-10 students who are still building their fundamentals can start with SAT/PSAT readiness.
SAT curriculum includes small portions of different AP courses. The SAT Math curriculum includes topics from AP Precalculus and AP Statistics. The SAT Reading and Writing Section uses concepts from AP Seminar and AP Research, apart from AP English Language and Composition.
How do students in India register for AP exams?
A few secondary schools in India offer AP courses and exams, and they often limit testing to enrolled students. If your school does not offer the paper you want, you register at an authorized AP test center. Some centers are open to eligible students and generally have a website of their own where you can register. Alternatively, you can call up the school to check for availability. Seats may fill fast, so plan to register before year-end.
You can complete registration and payment with the center you choose. You can then join the exam-only section in My AP. College Board's school exam-order deadline for 2026-27 is 13 November 2026. India centers set their own windows around that date, usually a first window in September–November 2026 and sometimes a second window into March 2027 at a higher fee. Confirm the dates on Taking AP in India and on the center's own page.
Twenty-eight AP exams run digitally in College Board's Bluebook app. Most centers expect the student to bring an approved device. Each center sets its own rupee fee; confirm the number before you pay. The College Board fee table is on AP Exam Fees.
Which AP exam centers are open in India?
College Board publishes the authorized AP test centers in India on Taking AP in India. Centers missing from that list are not administering AP this year. Confirm which exams they offer; not every center runs Calculus, Physics, and Statistics.

What ID and exam rules apply at India AP centers?
You may sit any or all four AP Physics exams in the same year. You cannot sit AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC in the same year. You can sit AP Precalculus and either AB or BC in the same year. You cannot sit two exams scheduled at the same date and time; take one in the regular window and the other in late testing if the center offers it. You cannot retake an AP exam in the same year.
On exam day at India test centers, College Board requires an original, valid passport with a recent photo that matches the student. If a passport is not available, Aadhaar can be used as an alternate ID. Students without the required ID will not be admitted.
Eligible testers include currently enrolled secondary students, homeschool and virtual-school students at secondary level, students sitting AP before grade 9 if they are ready, and recent secondary graduates who need a specific AP score for university admission. A center may add its own ID rules. Students have recently graduated from high school can also appear with some constraints.
How do SATPrepIn AP classes work?
SATPrepIn AP classes focus on the exact curriculum College Board publishes. We ensure to cover every skill mentioned in the course description. AP exams just like the SAT exam is very repetitive in what it tests. Our focus is to ensure students get enough practice on the exact concepts and question types they will see on the test. For example, AP Calculus BC - FRQ 2 is always parametric or polar. We practice several questions so you know exactly what to expect on the actual test. We also have a library of real AP MCQs that is used for practice in the classes.
You can book a trial class before enrolling with us. More details on Subject-level hours, calendars, and materials can be accessed on AP Calculus Classes, AP Physics Classes, and AP Statistics.
